Usage
The STK-N series backflow preventers are used in accordance with DIN EN 1717 to protect the drinking water network when connecting devices and systems that pose a risk to drinking water, in accordance with classes 1-4 of DIN 1988, Part 4.
The STK-N backflow preventer can replace the DIN 3266 pipe separator of installation type 2 (EA 2) in accordance with DIN 1988-T4. The BA backflow preventer can also be installed below the maximum possible dirty water level and can be used without restriction for commercial and domestic purposes.
In addition, the system separators of the STK series meet the flow values required by EN12729.
Functionality
The system separators operate hydraulically and are controlled by the medium itself. Two non-return valves divide the system separator into zones: the inlet zone, the middle zone, and the outlet zone. Each of the three zones is equipped with test connections. The two independent backflow preventers, which separate the middle zone (reduced pressure zone) from the other zones, are closed without pressure. The relief valve in the middle chamber, which is used to drain contaminants, is closed without pressure.
The actual valve mechanism is integrated into a compact cartridge, which can be removed in a few simple steps for maintenance or replacement.
